The 2015 Global Gender Gap Index has put Nigeria at number 125. The index shows the gap between men and women in the areas of Economic participation and opportunities, Educational attainment, Health and Political participation within any country, these are the sub-indexes; 145 counties were considered in the 2015 profiling. Iceland took the number 1 position while Yemen came last. The United States of America clinched the 28thposition behind all the Nordic countries.

In the sub-index category; Nigeria is number 61 in Economic Participation and opportunities and number 137 in Educational attainment.

Fourteen indicators were used in compiling the report, with a number of indicators grouped into each sub-index
