Mohammed Aminu in Sokoto , the Sokoto State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Sunday said it was poised to provide free medical services to all persons taking part in the sanitation exercise in the state. Speaking with journalists in Sokoto, the Chairman of the association, Dr. Abdulgafar Jimoh, said this was part of the association’s support towards ensuring the success of the state’s sanitation exercise.  He emphasized that the programme would in no small measure improve on the health of the citizenry. According to him, this would go a long in ensuring a clean environment thereby reducing the prevalence of diseases in the society. “We wish to encourage the Tambuwal administration to maintain and sustain this public health initiative. “This will go a long way in reducing communicable and vector-borne diseases like diarrhea and malaria which are among the major public health problems in our society.
