Nigeria: Shettima Spends N1 Billion On Health Facilities
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima said his administration has procured hospital equipment worth N1.06 billion, to revamp over 60 health facilities destroyed in six years of insurgency.

Shettima stated this Monday during a traditional Sallah courtesy visit by the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi to the Government House in Maiduguri. “We have bought equipment worth N1.06 Billion and it is gratifying to know that some of the equipment have started coming including X-ray machines, scanners, 1000 hospital beds, industrial washing machines for our hospitals, proper uniforms for nurses and theatre workers and other vital hospital equipment,” Shettima said. He said the fund donated to the state by donors “We got $1million donation from General Electric of the United States and we said they should give the money to UNICEF and they gave the money to them and I am glad to inform you that we have taken possession of a substantial quantity of hospital equipment enough to equip 60 primary healthcare centres in the state.”
