Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has said that the Federal Government of Nigeria is to build 10,000 Primary Health Clinics and Centres in the 774 LGAs in the country. Each Local Government Area (LGA) has about 11-17 wards In the same vein, health care will be made more accessible to 60 million indigent Nigerians by 2019.

 

The primary healthcare system comprises primary health clinics and primary health centres with a general hospital (located at the LGA headquarters) at the apex.

 

The minister said this at the commissioning of some projects at the Federal Teaching Hospital Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti state, South-west Nigeria recently.
