A recent outbreak of salmonella food poisoning in nine states in the United States of America has been traced to nut butter according to the center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Salmonella is a germ you can get by eating poorly cooked or uncooked contaminated food like fruits and vegetable and off course food like nut butter which apparently was not properly sterilized.

The germ is also found in the body of animals including poultry and could be contracted by handling them and not washing your hands.

Symptoms appear after about twelve to seventy two hours of infection and consist of abdominal cramps, diarrhoea and fever but recovery is very high after about four to seven days.

The nut butter has been withdrawn from the shelves
