The National Youth Services Corp (NYSC)  has launched a  health  initiative for rural dwellers (HIRD) across the country to provide basic health care delivery for those in the rural areas who cannot afford to go to regular hospitals and for those places where there are no health Facilities. To this end, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier Gen. Johnson Olawumi has said it would be a national initiative where medics who are corps members will be mobilized to render medical services free of charge to members of community and surroundings. Community leaders and State Governments all across the nation are appreciative of this laudable project of the NYSC.
