After nearly ten years of existence, only 7 percent of Nigerians are registered with the Health Insurance Scheme, this was disclosed by the President of the Nigeria Medical Association during the annual executive meeting held in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Southwest Nigeria.

He urged the Federal Government to increase the health budget to 15 percent from the current 5 percent and to make health insurance compulsory for all.
