In a statement issued in Abuja by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the AHF Senior Manager, Communication, Miss Kemi Gbadamosi has disclosed that Nigeria has the second highest burden of HIV after South Africa and yet only about 45 percent of Nigerians are aware of their HIV status.

As part of AHF’s contribution to Nigeria’s HIV/AIDS response, the Country Programme Manager of AHF Nigeria, Dr. Adetayo Towolawu has said that the organization had flagged off a testing campaign aimed at reaching 15,000 Nigerians in Abuja, Anambra, Benue, Cross River, Kogi and Nasarawa State HIV.  This is in order to realize the UNIAIDS/AHF global goals on HIV/AIDS and ensuring that Nigerians know their status.
