Community pharmacists in Nigeria have called on the Federal Government to close down open drug markets in order to reduce the prevalence of fake and adulterated drugs.

These markets are found mainly in Lagos, Onitsha, Aba and Kano where drugs are usually sold in unregistered premises run by non-professionals; the battle against these markets has been on forever and there appears to be no end in sight.
