PHC coordinator stresses need for polio vaccines
During the just concluded four days FCT immunization plus exercise con¬ducted in 10 political wards of the council, The Coordinator of Pri¬mary Health Care (PHC) in charge of Gwagwalada Area Council, Dr. Adeyemi Adeniran has highlighted the values of polio vaccines on children, even as he cautioned parents to desist from rejecting immunization exercise against the child killer diseases.
The medical practitioner tasked parents to appreciate government efforts towards enhancing good health of their wards just as he frowned at the negative attitude that would deny their children access to immunization, describing the act as a disservice to the com-munity and the children as well. Adeniran, who is also the head of Gwagwalada Health Department implored govern¬ment to fully implement the Child’s Right Act to enable all legible children the opportu¬nity to get proper protection against polio without being subjected to rejection from their parents, saying that the department would put up measures to en¬sure it reached every nook and cranny of the entire area coun¬cil and its environs, assuring that enough logistics would be given to the health workers who will carry out the immunization exercise. The HOD lauded the World Health Organization (WHO), chairman of the council, FCT Health Secretariat and tradi¬tional ruler for contributing in one way or the other to the successful conduct of the exer¬cise in the area
