A recent outbreak of salmonella food poisoning in the United States of America has been linked to consumption of cucumber grown in Mexico. The outbreak reported in 27 states killed one person and brought down hundreds of others – according CDC .
Of these sickened, most were children under the age of 18 years.
Fruits must be thoroughly washed with soap, salt water and finally fresh potable water before consumption.
Other possible sources of food poisoning through salmonella include Lettuce and berries.
