Scientists have upped the fight against Leukaemia, a form of blood cancer. The new treatment involves withdrawal of the patient’s blood and the T-cells (a type of white) in the withdrawn blood are re-enginerred to destroy cancer cells. The blood containing the re-engineered cells is then pumped back into the patient to destroy the cancer cells.
The success rate is said to be about 90 percent.

According to the scientists, the importance of this development is its possible use in the treatment of others forms of cancer as blood cancers have several other effective treatment models.
