A research team at the University of Bath, Department of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies (CSCT) in collaboration with Queen Mary University of London and the Bristol Bioenergy Centre has developed an innovative miniature fuel cell that can generate electricity from urine,  thus creating an affordable, renewable and carbon- neutral way of generating power especially in remote areas at very low cost. This could be very useful in rural healthcare facilities
