An explosion at a gas plant at Nnewi, Anambra State, South-east Nigeria has taken the lives of nearly 100 people and caused the loss of properties running into millions of Nigeria. The explosion occurred on the 24th of December 2014 while customers were buying gas from the gas plant. Several persons were also injured and now receiving treatment in various hospitals and clinics in Nnewi and the immediate environ.
