Pain and stiffness of our joints could come with age in a condition called Osteoarthritis; the joints’ inside are covered with smooth cartilage and have a fluid called synovial fluid, both of which ensure free movement of the joints.

Other possible causes of the above condition include injury, chronic jarring movements, too much and prolonged weight bearing and poor movement patterns can accelerate the wear and tear of the cartilage.

However certain movements are now known to decelerate the wear and tear of cartilage; these include squat, bend, lunge, good walking gait, push, pull and twist.

Some of these movements should be done every morning on waking up to “warm up” the synovial fluid in the joints to make them healthy.
