Chinese authorities have ordered students to remain indoors and some factories to wind down activities owing to the smog which has covered much of Northeast China including Beijin in the last four days.

China depends on coal for sixty percent of its energy requirement with the attendant air pollution to run its industries and heating systems, in addition, there has a big increase in number of vehicles due to the booming economy in the country.
