About two and half months after Liberia was declared Ebola free, three new cases have emerged. The three persons all male belong to one family (father and two brothers) living in a district in the capital, Monrovia.

According to the health authorities, the first diagnosed victim is the 10 year old boy who reported ill, the father and the brother tested positive to the virus later than day. All have now been taken to an Ebola hospital outside Monrovia.

During the Ebola epidemic in Liberia, about 11000 persons were affected with about 5000 deaths
