The pacific island of Tonga located near New Zealand is now the number country in obesity, thanks to mutton flaps from New Zealand.

Mutton flap is the fatty meat trimmed off the ribs of sheep which is considered unfit for human consumption in New Zealand but exported to Tonga.

As in all third world countries, anything imported is better than locale.

The local food of Tonga consists of root vegetables (potatoes), bananas, fish and vegetables but so-called civilization has pushed this to the corner for imported mutton which is now seen as high-scale food.

Mutton flaps contain saturated fat and this has produced a generation of overweight people who are more at risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and coronary heart disease. Life expectancy is said to be falling.

Up to 40 percent of the population are overweight, it is now an epidemic.
