In two separate accidents under one week along the Lagos -Ibadan express way, a total of eighteen persons lost their lives ( 14 and 4)in a particular village. The road has been bad for several years but rehabilitation commenced last year though still very far from completion.
Owing to the deplorable state of the major roads in Nigeria and refusal of motorists to obey simple traffic laws, the rate of road traffic accidents is quite high.
In the last three days two containers fell off moving trucks in Lagos, one off the Ojuelegba bridge in Surulere killing four persons.
