The U.S. has given grants to Nigeria and Kenya through the Institute of Human Virology

for the enhancement of laboratory services in the Kenya (USD13m) and for the improvement of biosecurity infrastructure in Nigeria (USD10m).

The grants are part of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, meant to strengthen the relation between the Institute for Human virology and the Centres For Disease Control and Prevention across the world.

The grants have been received by the two countries.
