Dr. Geetan Anchil from the Norvik hospital in Kampala have said that over 600 police officers and their family members have been screened for Hepatitis B.

All police officers tested have also been counseled on how to handle themselves to avoid killer disease like HIV/AIDS, Chronic infections and Hepatitis B.

The Deputy police spokesperson, Polly Namaye said screening police officers for infectious disease is meant to improve their health and make them more useful to the nation; he also encouraged all officers to go for the tests since they can’t serve the nation when they are sick.
