Seven months after they were affected in the bomb explosions, which took place in the nation’s capital territory and other neighbouring towns, victims of these bomb attacks, yesterday, protested against alleged negligence by the Federal Government. The victims, who converged on the Millennium Park Fountain, venue of the#BringBackourGirls demonstrations, also claimed that they were abandoned in various hospitals, and left to foot the bills that had accumulated in the course of their treatments.
Among the incidents that affected them are the dual bomb blasts at Nyanya in April, and others in Suleja, Niger State, as well as Emab Plaza in Wuse Zone II, Abuja. In a swift reaction, Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat of the FCTA, Dr. Ademola Onakomaiya, said: “There is a mix up here. What they are asking for is not healthcare, but empowerment because if we had not treated them, they will not be able to come here.”
