WHO declares zika outbreak international emergency

The World Health Organisation has declared the ZIKA virus outbreak an international emergency. This meant to further create awareness and raise funds for research and vaccine development according to the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Brazilian Health Minister Marcelo Castro said the virus cannot be transmitted from person to person,only by mosquito but claimed the epidemic is worse than believed because 80% of the cases are symptomless.
Zika virus is now in about 25 countries and territories.
