The World Health Organization says about 1,707,000 Nigerians are living with Diabetes mellitus

Dr. Afoke Isiavwe, an endocrinologist who spoke on the statistics said that Nigerians had the highest number of people living with the disease in Africa and called on Nigerians to undergo blood glucose test regularly for early diagnosis.

This was said by WHO as part of activities to mark this year’s World Health Day, 7/4/16.
