The World Health Organization said Wednesday that the MERS outbreak in South Korea was a “wakeup call” and urged all countries to be more vigilant. 

“This outbreak is a wakeup call,” WHO said after an emergency committee meetingTuesday. “All countries should always be prepared for the unanticipated possibility of outbreaks like this and other serious infectious diseases.”
