World’s longest surviving heart transplant patient dies at 73

The longest surviving heart transplant paiet in the world according the Guinness Book of Records has died. John McCafferty died on Tuesday, 9/2/16 at the age of 73 years, 33 years after his operation.
He received a new heart in 1982 after being diagnosed with heart muscle disease which leads to expansion of the heart but ineffective in pumping out blood.

Doctors told him on receiving the heart that he would live for only five years; he was then only 39 years old, but he proved them all wrong by living for additional 28 years.
After all, doctors are not God.
