The Zimbabwe Health and Child Care Minister, Dr. David Parirenyatwa has said the health sector is an essential service and its employees will no longer be allowed to strike as Government has moved to implement provision of the new National constitution.
Government through the Health Service Board (HSB) of  Zimbabwe, has just introduced contracts for Junior Resident Medical Officers (JMROs) which they signed following intense negotiation; the contract states that the JMROs are not allowed to go on industrial actions because they are deemed to be on essential service.
