Many women found to have cancer in Niger State

The International Center for Reproductive  Rights (INCRESE) has disclosed that various health organizations and voluntary agencies, screened 29,170 women for different types of cancers in the last three years and found several of them with various cases of cancer.
Mrs. Dorothy Aken’ova, Executive Director, INCRESE. also said other cases yet to be confirmed have been sent to specialist hospitals for further examinations of their cases and that once confirmed they would be recommended  for further treatment before the situation gets out of hand.

She blamed lack of awareness and traditional beliefs on the increase in the number of CANCER positive people in the State. She further reiterated that her agency would mount a vigorous campaign to educate women on the need for them to seek medical attention once they suspect any strange development in their bodies.
