The Provincial Health Director in Benguela Province, Angola, Barnabe Lemos at a roundtable on “Yellow fever, Causes and Consequences” confirmed that the province has not reported any case of Yellow fever since 2015 and that though more than 100 reported suspected cases have been tested in Laboratories in Dakar, Senegal, none was positive for the disease.

Barnabe Lemos said that his department has created a set of strategy for the prevention and treatment of possible cases at any health facility in the province and that Health Authorities in the province have developed mobilization campaigns to inform people about the early signs and symptoms of disease, the best ways to combat it and protective measures against the mosquitoes that transmit yellow fever.
